Scope
This policy applies to consumer health data governed by Washington's My Health My Data Act and similar laws. In this context, consumer health data can include information linked or reasonably linkable to a person that identifies, reveals, or permits an inference about health status or an effort to obtain health or care services. A random or persistent identifier can make information linkable even when we do not know a person's name.
Public facts about a licensed care home are not a visitor's consumer health data. A visitor's interaction with a care-related page, filter, or home may be, because it can suggest what services the person is researching for themselves or someone else.
Data categories and purposes
Depending on your actions and choices, we may handle:
Information you deliberately submit for a requested communication. An inquiry, contact form, callback request, or visitor chat can include the home involved, contact details, and any care needs or health-related message you choose to provide. We use it to save, review, route, and respond to that request; prevent abuse; maintain delivery and moderation records; and provide related customer support.
Care-search activity used for aggregate analytics. If you allow aggregate analytics, we may measure general page or content usage to improve the directory. We configure this purpose to avoid form content and detailed care-filter values. Because a page address or content category can still reveal a care topic, we treat care-related page measurement conservatively under this policy. Aggregate analytics consent does not enable a visit-level support profile or internal visit-alert emails.
Care-search activity used for personalized support. If this feature is available and you separately opt in, we may connect pages and listings viewed, structured care or payment filters, saves, comparisons, calls or availability actions, visible time, and visitor-submitted actions within one visit. We use a random visit identifier, not a fingerprint. We use the information to show our support team what is happening during the visit, send internal live and end-of-visit notifications, and provide relevant help.
Possible care-interest inferences. With the same personalized-support permission, we may create a limited, rule-based description such as “viewed three memory-care listings.” Every possible interest is tied to observed evidence. We do not infer a diagnosis, age, income or eligibility, urgency, identity, ability to pay, or whether a home is suitable.
General context. We may associate broad device and referral information or a coarse region with the categories above when permitted. We do not use precise GPS location or geofences around healthcare facilities. A raw network address is not placed in visit events, visit summaries, or email notifications.
Sources of consumer health data
- You, when you submit a form, callback request, or chat message
- Your interaction with our site, when an optional purpose is enabled and you allow it
- Information we derive from bounded, observed actions during the same visit, such as counts or possible interests
- Technical context supplied by your browser, request, or referral source
We do not obtain a consumer's medical record from a healthcare provider for this feature and do not purchase consumer health data from data brokers.
No sale of consumer health data
Adult Home Finder does not sell consumer health data. We also do not use it for targeted advertising. If this practice changes, we will update this policy and obtain any separate authorization required before a sale.
Retention
Current cleanup targets for optional personalized-support data are about 30 days for raw visit events and about 90 days for visit summaries. Short-lived abuse-prevention keys are targeted for deletion after about 7 days. Consent and withdrawal records may be kept as needed to honor and demonstrate your choices.
Inquiry, contact, callback, and chat records are retained separately to provide and document the communication requested. An internal visit email already delivered to a protected staff mailbox is a separate copy governed by mailbox retention; include it in a deletion request so we can address it. Expiration targets are not promises of deletion at an exact second, and backups may take additional time to cycle out where law permits.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Confirm whether we collect, share, or sell consumer health data about you
- Access that data
- Obtain a list of third parties and affiliates with whom it was shared or sold, including available contact information
- Withdraw consent from future collection or sharing
- Ask us to delete consumer health data about you
- Appeal a refusal to act on a request
We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. The public directory and essential communication tools remain available when you decline or withdraw optional permissions.
Requests, withdrawal, and appeals
Use Privacy choices in the site footer to withdraw an optional permission for future activity. Withdrawing personalized support stops optional tracking, clears its browser identifiers, suppresses an active visit's recap, and starts deletion of optional data associated with that visit. It does not delete a message or request you intentionally submitted.
To request access, a recipient list, or deletion, or to appeal a decision, email contact@adulthomefinder.com with “Consumer health data request” or “Privacy appeal” in the subject. You may also use our contact form. Include the email or phone number used and an approximate date or relevant home so we can locate the record. Do not email medical records or identity documents unless we give you a secure method. We may verify your identity before fulfilling a request and will respond within the period required by applicable law.

Policy changes
We will update the effective date when this policy changes. Before we collect, use, or share an additional category of consumer health data or use it for a new purpose, we will update this disclosure and obtain affirmative consent when required.
